Angie, you say that you have wandered in grief and made all sorts of wrong choices. How do we manage to keep from being destroyed by these?
Angela: When we realized that all our experiences are a training ground for growth, we can begin to accept even our own mistakes. We tend to bury or be ashamed of what we’ve done wrong. But the most wonderful gift is ours if we accept we’ve learned amazing lessons in wisdom from those errors.
Why do you believe people hide things they don’t know how to deal with? How do we get past this pretense and pretending?
Why do you believe people hide things they don’t know how to deal with? How do we get past this pretense and pretending?
Angela: It’s scary to believe people will accept us for our flaws. But when we see those flaws as gifts to help others overcome their struggles, we become more willing to be transparent. I want to mention that transparency and discretion are crucial partners. There’s no reason to share every detail with everyone. Share when you know the person next to you needs to be loved and helped from what you’ve been through. Don’t share when it’s just gossip fodder or won’t uplift those who hear.
Why do you say it’s a good thing to face difficulty and not have it easy?
Angela: I love watching people. In observing (and in recognition in my own life) I’ve noticed that those who’ve struggled tend to be those who achieve. Those who’ve struggled tend to be those who minister to others from what they’ve overcome. The strugglers? They’re the world changers.
In Gems of Wisdom: For A Treasure-Filled Life you'll embark on a treasure hunt for God's unique gems of wisdom. Be empowered, learn to influence through your own life lessons, and preserve important relationships. Gems of Wisdom invites the reader on a treasure hunt to find important life concepts represented by the beautiful stones God created. Excellent for Bible study and book clubs as well as individual study.

That was such an interesting decision to donate your mom's brain to science. I'm bipolar and think about donating mine sometimes. Your book sounds like a good read. Like wisdom from an old friend. I'm from Ohio.
ReplyDeleteThank you for commenting, friends. To Kristie, yes, brain donation is a really interesting experience. I felt it would be something that might benefit the world long term and that I might get some answers too. I did, but not the immediate answers I wished for. I found out my mom had tons of scarring from strokes that no one knew she'd had. What a shock! It explained her falls and shaking because the strokes were in the motor region of her brain. I found out she definitely was a schizophrenic too. But no answer as to why. The big why.
ReplyDeleteI'm also a brain donor. I'm hoping that with the information they can glean in comparison study, that someday, we can find answers and cures. But most of all, I hope to help change damaged relationships that we all have.
To me, brain donation (or organ donation) is a true gift to those that follow us.
