I'd like to introduce you to a new friend from my church. Welcome, Sabrina. You are writing nonfiction. Do you also write fiction?
No, I don’t. In fact, I did not dream that I would be a writer.
What would you like for our readers to know about you personally?
I am a Christian educator and a church musician. I have led music and worship workshops in Asia, Europe, Canada, and USA. I taught music and worship at Singapore Bible College before and served as a minister of music at a Baptist church for 10 years in the USA. I received my doctoral degree in Music Education from the University of Houston and my advance degree in Church Music at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. I love children and feel burdened to help parents and teachers to build a strong relationship with God, thus to train their children to be God’s true worshipers.
Tell us about your family.
I was raised by a dedicated mother who loved God and her children. She taught my siblings and me about God since we were small and constantly prayed for us. My father was also a Christian but he was seldom home. We learned to sing many songs about God and to God, and pray through my mother. She also told us stories from the Bible. Today all my siblings follow Jesus faithfully. My mother was definitely a great inspiration and imparted a deep conviction for me to reach out to children with God’s love.
Have you written other nonfiction books?
No, this is my first nonfiction book but I have written a doctoral dissertation and two master’s theses.
Do you have any other books in the works right now?
Yes. Presently I am writing a workbook to go with my Volume One: Let the Children Come to Me: (Vol. 1) God’s Original Intent for Us and Our Children. This workbook can be used for home groups or Sunday School classes to help them apply the biblical concepts in my book. At the same time, I am finishing up my Volume Two: Let the Children Come to Me: (Vol. 2) Raising Up a Generation of True Worshipers.
What kinds of hobbies and leisure activities do you enjoy?
Reading, hiking, singing, spending time with friends and family.
Why did you write the featured book?
Toward the end of 2006, God called me to write a Children’s Worship curriculum. As I did my research in the areas of worship and children, the findings of the research grew to become two volumes of my book. The featured book is Volume One.
What do you want the reader to take away from the book?
This book is written for those who are seriously seeking the purpose and meaning of life. It provides readers spiritual insights from the Bible about God’s original intentions in creating us, which are to have a love relationship with Him and glorify Him. Goals to teach children and a biblical worldview which is a vital content to equip children to be God’s worshipers are found. It is my prayer that the readers and subsequently their children will find their identity, purpose, and the ultimate fulfillment in God!
Where on the Internet can the readers find you?
I have a website for my book: http://www.theultimatepress.ne/ t. My book is also listed in Amazon.com. If the readers would like to contact me, they can email me at ultimatepress@aol.com .
