About the author:
Ruth Reid is a CBA and ECPA best-selling author of the Heaven on Earth series.
She's a full-time pharmacist who resides in Florida with her husband and three children.
Welcome back, Ruth. God has really been moving in your writing life. What do you see on the horizon?
Lord willing,
more books!
Tell us a little about your family.
My husband and I
met in pharmacy school at Ferris
State University .
We have three children, Lexie, who is in college, Danny, who recently got his
driver’s permit, and Sarah, who is thirteen and my prayer warrior. We also have
two dogs. Zyvox, a Weimaraner and Lady Bird, a Jack Russell.
Has your writing changed your reading
habits? If so, how?
Yes! I can’t
seem to read a book without analyzing it. I think that’s from being involved
with a critique group for so many years.
What are you working on right now?
I’m currently
working on an Amish Christmas novella and A
Woodland Miracle, book 2 in the Amish Wonders series.
What outside interests do you have?
I love
photography and I’m learning how to quilt.
How do you choose your settings for each
book?
I grew up in
northern Michigan
and love writing about places where I’ve either visited or lived.
If you
could spend an evening with one historical person, who would it be and why?
I would like to
find out what it was like to step out of a boat in the middle of a storm and
walking on water, so I would choose Peter. His journey of faith has always
inspired me.
What is the one thing you wish you had
known before you started writing novels?
I wished I had a
better understanding of social media. I think it might not have seemed
overwhelming if I would have blogged or had a website prior to being published.
But just like writing, you have to start somewhere.
What new lessons is the Lord teaching you
right now?
God’s timing is
perfect, and He wants to lead us on the path He has placed before us.
Sometimes, instead of taking baby steps, I run. Lately, I’ve been reminded that
He never leaves my side, but I need to be mindful of the pace.
What are the three best things you can
tell other authors to do to be successful?
1) Seek God and
listen for His direction
2) Join a godly
critique group
3) Set a
realistic word count and write every day.

A Miracle of Hope is an Amish romance about a pregnant, out
of wedlock, woman who needs a fresh start and a man who needs someone to care
for his deaf daughter. Neither of them is thrilled about
a marriage of convenience, but they enter into the arrangement with a firm
understanding—it isn’t about love—until someone breaks the rules.

I love Ruth's books. I also enjoyed this interview. I have thought of the Apostle Peter a lot. He chose to be crucified upside down because he was unworthy. I see Peter as a very strong witness for Christ especially after his denial of Christ. I felt his pain as he wept bitterly.
ReplyDeleteI too am learning patience to wait upon the Lord.
Miracle Of Hope is on my wish list. Looking forward to all Ruth's future books. I love Christmas novellas!
Blessings!
