Readers, today we're doing a departure from the usual novels to introduce you to a cookbook written by a friend at our church.
Welcome, Sandy. Why did you write this book?
Our
family times around the table through the years have been so valuable. Because
of what we have shared, I have written this cookbook with personal stories in
hopes that it will inspire other families to enjoy their own time around the
table!
I know you’re using this book
to raise money and awareness for the A21 project. Please tell us about this
project and why we should be interested in it.
The A21 Campaign is about
abolishing sex slavery in the 21st Century. The movement is
comprised of individuals, organizations, government officials, and people like
you and me who are committed to making a difference and helping the suffering
find freedom.
This is such a serious problem around the world, but also right here in the US. How can my readers get
involved with this project?
Due to the danger of this kind of
work, the best way for us to help is to stay informed, pray, and give.
Please tell us about your
family.
I
am from a family of 6 children. We are a “Blended family,” so I’ve always said,
I am the middle child of the “third litter.”
I've been married almost 33 years and have 3 grown children who are all
incredible. Even though they have all found their life mates, only one of them
is married. She and her husband are expecting our first grand baby in the spring
of 2013. I cannot wait to bake cookies
and treats with that little one. I already have an adorable apron for my new “lil'
helper!”
Grandchildren are so much fun. What kinds of hobbies and
leisure activities do you enjoy?
I
enjoy reading, traveling internationally, domestic road trips with my hubby, antique
shopping, cooking, mostly baking and I always enjoy taking random cooking
classes.
Thank you, Sandy, for sharing the book and about the Campaign to help abolish sex slavery. I'll be praying, and I know many of my readers will as well.
