Today, we're talking with Kathy Howard. Welcome, Kathy. You are writing nonfiction. Do you also write fiction?
Other than writing short stories when I was a kid I’ve never tackled fiction.
What would you like for our readers to know about you personally?
My writing developed out of my passion for studying and teaching God’s Word. I love teaching and discipleship, on a large scale with my writing and on a smaller scale in my home church. I serve on our church staff as Minister of Adult Education. I have a Masters in Christian Education.
Tell us about your family.
My husband, Wayne, and I have been married for 26 years. We were both born and raised in Louisiana and met at Louisiana Tech University. Wayne is in the oil industry so his job has kept us moving. We’ve lived in south Louisiana, Wyoming, West Texas (twice), Alberta, and Houston. We have three children – two daughters and a son. Our oldest daughter was married this summer so now we also have a son-in-law. We are definitely a dog-loving family. We have four all together!
Have you written other nonfiction books?
Yes, one other published Bible study.
What other books have you written, and where can the readers of the blog find them?
Before His Throne: Discovering the Wonder of Intimacy with a Holy God is a nine-week study through the book of Malachi to discover the joy and blessing of fearing God. The study can be purchased on the publisher’s website (http://www.newhopepublishers.com/ ), Amazon, and Christianbook.com. Many Christian book stores will have them in stock, but if they don’t they can order it in.
Do you have any other books in the works right now?
Yes. I have a couple of Bible studies and a devotional book pending.
Where on the Internet can the readers find you?
http://www.kathyhoward.org/ is my main website
http://www.godstruthrevealed.org/ is under development and will be dedicated to this new study. There will be leader helps, excerpts, resource tools and more.
What kinds of hobbies and leisure activities do you enjoy?
I used to love scrapbooking but that was before I got really busy writing. I exercise faithfully. I enjoy cooking, gardening, movies, and reading.
Why did you write the featured book?
This particular book developed out of a ministry to spiritual seekers. God kept bringing adults to our church who didn’t have any knowledge of the Bible. A few were brand new Christians, but most were just investigating spiritual things. After years of this ministry I had a good grasp of the questions they needed answered and the information they needed in order to make a decision about Jesus Christ.
What do you want the reader to take away from the book?
Readers will have a solid understanding of the basic and most important beliefs of the Christian faith. More importantly they will know why Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

Always looking for resources for discipleship. Would love to use this one!
Hi Denise, Desiree! This book is great for groups or one-on-one discipleship. It can guide a spiritual seeker into a relationship with Christ and help a new Christian get started off on the right foot. There are even Bible reading plans and quiet time helps in the back.

Sounds like a great book to share with seekers in my life.

Julia, the great thing about this book is that you don't have to worry if anything will be over a seeker's head. More and more people these days don't have even a basic knowledge of the Bible so the study starts at square one!
"God's Truth Revealed" sounds like a great study. Please enter me.

sounds like a book I need to read. My small group ladies Bible study is in our fifteenth year of studying the Word together. I am responsible for recommending our next study. This just might be it.
Thanks for the opportunity to win a copy.
