THREAT OF EXPOSURE - Lynette Eason - Free Book

How did you come up with the idea for this story?

It was given to me! LOL. This is book 5 in a continuity series, which means the editors come up with the series and pick six authors to write the books. I’m number 5.

If you were planning a party with Christian authors of contemporary fiction, what six people would you invite and why?

All of my suspense buddies for sure. Brandilyn Collins, Terri Blackstock, Steven James, Robert Liparulo, Dee Henderson because I’ve known her for over ten years and I’ve never met her face to face—and Deb Raney just so I could watch her face as she’s surrounded by the “scaries.”

Now let’s do that for a party for Christian authors of historical fiction, what six people would you invite and why?

I just finished The Centurion’s Wife by Davis Bunn and Jeanette Oake, so definitely those two. What a beautiful story! Cara Putman because she writes awesome stories, Colleen Coble because I’ve always wanted to just sit down and have an uninterrupted conversation with her. LOL. Um…Mary Connealy because she write a rocking good western. And Yvonne Lehman because she lets me teach at her writers conferences!

Many times, people (and other authors) think you have it made with so many books published. What is your most difficult problem with writing at this time in your career?

Time. I think it’s always just that I never have enough time to just WRITE. With doing the blog and marketing and family, etc. it would be really nice to just have time to do the writing.

Tell us about the featured book. THREAT OF EXPOSURE. Here’s the back cover copy and a list of all of the books in the series.

Pages full of indecipherable codes are all that stand between DEA agent Brock Martin and drugs crossing the border. But if he wants to crack the case, he'll have to work with Texas Ranger Gisella Hernandez. Brock feels the case is way too dangerous for a female agent—especially one who refuses to admit she needs protection. Yet as they work together under the most dangerous threat of exposure, Brock discovers Gisella is stronger than she seems. And that his cowboy heart isn't so tough, after all.

Daughter of Texas – by Terri Reed
Body of Evidence – by Lenora Worth  (New York Times bestseller!!)
Face of Danger – by Valerie Hansen
Trail of Lies – by Margaret Daley
Threat of Exposure – by Lynette Eason
Out of Time – by Shirlee McCoy

Please give us the first page of the book.
ON
Brock Martin stared at the man behind the gun. The man who was supposed to be his informant. The man who’d sold accurate information to him over the last year. A man who Brock hadn’t come to trust, but had come to rely on.

The frigid January wind blew across his face, but that wasn’t what caused his violent shudder. “What are you doing, Lenny?”

One minute they were talking like always, the next, the weapon had appeared in Lenny’s hand almost before Brock could blink. The move had been totally unexpected and Brock drew in a deep breath ready to draw on all of his hostage situation training.

Then Lenny gave a smile that chilled his blood. “I got a better offer from Harry Lowe. He decided you’ve caused him enough grief and profits.”

Harry Lowe. A big time drug dealer along the Mexico-Texas border. Brock had been working this area between Juarez Mexico and El Paso, Texas a long time. One small slip-up and he could die.

Lenny’s cold eyes and steady hand holding the weapon said Brock had slipped up.

In a major way!
