I'm thrilled to feature this new series from one of my favorite authors, Kathleen Y'Barbo. Welcome, Kathleen. As an author, I know it takes a lot of people to birth each
book. Who were the people involved in the birthing of this book, and what were
their contributions?
My husband Robert was a huge help in bringing this book to
completion. From the beginning, he listened while I plotted. Later he read
chapters and marked up the pages. Now he acts as head cheerleader and publicist
as he gets the word out about the new release.
If you teach or speak. What’s coming up on your calendar?
A few upcoming speaking engagements include the Tulsa chapter of RWA, the Oklahoma Writers Association,
and a keynote address and workshops for the Inspirational Writers Alive in Houston . Full details on
these and the rest of my upcoming events can be found on my website at
www.kathleenybarbo.com.
If you had to completely start over in another place, where
would you move, and why?
Funny you should ask since I did just that in 2011 when I
moved from Houston to Tulsa after my marriage.
And all of us, your friends, were so happy for you and Bobby. If you could only tell aspiring novelists one thing, what
would it be?
Never let the devil steal the joy of writing from you. Once
lost, that spark of wonder when words hit the page or ideas come to mind is
hard to recover. Yes, writing is a business, but when it becomes more about the
business than the love of allowing the Lord to use your gifts then look out.
You’ve been asked to be in charge of a celebrity cruise. Who
would you ask to take part, and why? (AS in what program, singers, etc. [it
doesn’t have to be writing related])
I’m torn between worship music from my favorites such as
Newsboys, Chris Tomlin, and Third Day or a rockin’ Motown theme. How about
both? :D
I'd sure book on that cruise. Tell us about the featured book.
Veterinarian Eric
Wilson is confounded by the classified ad his three young daughters have
placed. The handsome widower is not in the market for a bride!
But when the story of his little matchmakers hits the papers, would-be brides
start swamping his waiting room. Despite them all, Eric finds himself drawn to
the temp worker at the classifieds office: adorable free spirit Amy Spencer.
Amy's been running for a while, and it's time she planted roots. Together, can
Amy and Eric realize that trusting in God's plan is the sweetest surrender of
all?
Please give us the first page of the book.
(Readers, this is coming soon. Please check back for it.)
Where can we find you on the Internet?

I'm so excited that my dear friend Lena has allowed me to begin the new year on her blog! Lena didn't ask this, but I'm looking toward 2012 with the word Decisions foremost in my mind. Did the Lord give you a word? If so, will you share?
Oh this looks amazing. I would love to read this. Thanks for the chance to win.
I am from Oklahoma
Kathleen, I'll join you in this. I have a dear friend, who is a missionary. We both seek a word for the new year and share them to see if they connect.
My word this year is rest. God wants us to rest in him and let him fight our battles.
Rita's is choices, which is very close to your word, Kathleen. We felt that if we seek him in our choices, then we can rest in what he is doing.
Sounds like an exciting year to me.
Sounds like an interesting book, everyone likes to play matchmaker at sometime or other I think. And who better to pick out a wife than the children who she will be a mother to.
I live in FL.

Kathleen, this is your longtime friend, Della, from our school days. I enjoyed your interview with Lena.
I will have to say that I was given two words. (I've never been a person of few words...lol.) Before my "word(s)" are revealed, let me say that I feel very proud to know you and admire you very much. I plan to read as much as possible in 2012 and Kathleen Y'Barbo will definitely be in that reading!
I am finally writing the historical fiction that I have dreamed of for the past twenty years. I am very green in all areas of writing, except for the inspiration part. I am planning to hand my creation to my sister, a caring, yet critical writer/editor when I say The End.
Thank-you, Kathleen for the encouragement and direction you gave to me a year or so ago. God does bless us with what we need and He does work through His children. Ultimately, your advice became my word(s) from God...
and the words are DO IT! <3
I would choose both for music also :-)Book sounds great would so love to win.
